AN ALTERNATIVE TO
AN ALTERNATIVE TO DISCOUNTED PPOs AND CAPITATION
Founded by dentists
BeneCare Dental Plans was started in 1979 as an Independent Practice Association of Dental Professionals along with a specialty administrator to create an alternative to the traditional insurers’ heavily discounted PPO and capitation reimbursement models.
WHY PARTICIPATE WITH BENECARE?
Our reimbursement schedules typically exceed the deeply discounted PPOs and capitation models.
Our fee schedules do not apply to non-covered services or services that exceed frequency limitations or benefit maximums.
Our proprietary networks are owned or managed by dental professionals and never leased to other carriers or third-party administrators.
Participating dentists are reimbursed at the applicable patient plan’s allowance, not at the lowest fee schedule a dentist has agreed to accept.
Open and close your patient panel at your discretion.
Only participate in the fee schedules you choose. There is no fee to enroll with BeneCare.

HELP YOUR PATIENTS AVOID SURPRISES
BeneCare recommends that dental professionals request a Predetermination of Benefits prior to a patient receiving any major dental work.2 This step gives you a summary of what the plan will pay toward any covered procedure and what the patient’s out-of-pocket responsibility will be. This helps patients budget to meet their financial obligation.

2 Major dental work is defined as any covered services expected to exceed $250 or for services such as dentures, crowns, periodontics, or bridgework. Predeterminations are offered to give dentists and members cost and coverage certainty, but they are never a mandatory condition of coverage. Predetermination is not a guarantee of payment.
