AN ALTERNATIVE TO
DISCOUNTED PPOs
AND CAPITATION
Founded by dentists
BeneCare Dental Plans was started in 1979 as an Independent Practice Association of Dental Professionals along with a specialty administrator to create an alternative to the traditional insurers’ heavily discounted PPO and capitation reimbursement models.

HELP YOUR PATIENTS AVOID SURPRISES
BeneCare recommends that dental professionals request a Predetermination of Benefits prior to a patient receiving any major dental work.2 This step gives you a summary of what the plan will pay toward any covered procedure and what the patient’s out-of-pocket responsibility will be. This helps patients budget to meet their financial obligation.

2 Major dental work is defined as any covered services expected to exceed $250 or for services such as dentures, crowns, periodontics, or bridgework. Predeterminations are offered to give dentists and members cost and coverage certainty, but they are never a mandatory condition of coverage. Predetermination is not a guarantee of payment.
